Emmett wasn't sure what had drawn him to the roof, largely because he was still too new to know that the roof and the beach were the places on the island to get your angst on, but here he was, the weight of his tragic, yet vague (A/N: you'd think they'd give out more hints than just an angsty solo in the latest musical episode) past pressing down on his shoulders.

He put his elbows on the crenellations (A/N: that's what you call those thingies, right?) and looked over the island, before sighing. Tragically.

Megan had discovered the dorms, and basically everyone should be terrified. But on her tour of everything, omg she ended up on the roof.

"Oh my god awesome someone's up here!" she said happily. "Are you emo? I bet you're emo."

Emmett smiled at her, because he was the kind of guy who put on a facade to hide his pain. His soul deep pain.

"I'm Emmett, actually." (A/N: I totes looked up the male version of Emma on behindthename.com)

"Close enough," she decided. "I'm Megan. You're one of the new kids I don't know that much about yet or I'd be all 'AAAAAAA,' you know, but I totally love what they are doing with your character."

Having not realized the changes happening yet, she didn't realize she'd never seen Emmett before right now.

That was okay, Emmett didn't like to be noticed, if he was noticed then someone might realise he wasn't what he seemed.

"Thanks...I think." As far as Emmett could tell, this was just the usual sweeps wacky. Which someone had totally told him about, yeah.

Like Megan had boundaries.

"Oh, nothing," Emmett lied. Just the fact his parents had mysteriously vanished/died (A/N: omg need more deets dnw 2 get jossed), leaving him alone in the world.

"Omigod, I'm gonna found out," Megan pointed out. "I'm gonna see your whole arc, you might as well just tell me."

"It's nothing, really." It was everything, this deep deep pain in his heart. "But you know what, you should tell me about your arc."

Emmett was a totes subtle manipulator like that.

"I'm visiting. I don't have an arc," Megan said, and whined, "Give me somethiiiiing. Spoilers, or whatever."

"I can't tell you anything." How could he tell anyone about his past? About how he'd had to turn to selling his body on the street to survive. (A/N: b/c all teenage runaways turn to hooking, I saw it in this way awesome movie with that guy from the matrices once)

THE SMILE HID HIS PAIN.

"Okay," Megan said, clearly gearing up for something. "I get that you're new, so I'll give you a pass, but you don't seem to get how this works. I squee over you, I ask for spoilers or something and you give them to me and I go away happy and you feel loved."

Gee, wonder how this plot was gonna go kinda megalomaniacal.

Emmett glared at her. Hotly. He'd had to get tough on the streets.

"I don't need to feel loved." Yes, yes he did. Preferably by another hot boy omg.

"Yes you do!" Megan decided, and pointed vaguely. "Now you get out there, and you find someone to have super dirty sex with!"

That was all Emmett was good for, to have super dirty sex with strangers who cared only for his young, nubile body and not for his heart.
